Hands-On Workshop
Learn to paint life-like foliage in this one day class taught by Bonnie Lecat.
Bonnie will share her process for creating volume and atmosphere in your murals by
'sculpting' with light and shadow when painting sunlit vines like the ones shown on
the panels here. Students will learn to recognize and incorporate differences in
color, texture and tonal value in their paintings through the use of simple and
successful painting techniques which can be incorporated into all elements of
mural painting. The class will create a panel that features trompe l'oeil leaves
painted on canvas that can be rolled-up to take.
Class will start by 9am on Wednesday - 9/28/2011 adjacent to the Exposition Hall. Each student will complete a canvas of approximately 2' x 3'. All paints and canvas as well as some brushes will be provided to the class, however, students are encouraged to bring standard brushes to avoid sharing. All students need to be checked-in and ready for class by 8:30am. Class will adjourn by 5pm to allow for evening festivities. Class tuition for this all-day, hands-on workshop is set at $295/student. Expo registration must be completed prior to confirmation of any classes.
